IMPLEMENTATION OF LOW SULPHUR SURCHARGE (LSF) as from 01st Dec 18

Dear Valued Customer,

With the increased global focus on the environmentally sustainable business practice, please be advised that effective the 1st of October 2018, China’s Maritime Safety Administration has required all vessels operating in Ningbo, Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta to use a low Sulphur fuel which doesn’t exceed a 0.50% Sulphur limit.

As a result, to ensure that we comply with above, and maintain our service levels and schedules to you; UAFL will be applying a Low Sulphur Surcharge (LSF) to all cargo destined to, loaded from, and transshipped through Ningbo and Shanghai. Please note this surcharge will also apply to inland destinations serviced through these ports.

The surcharge applied will be as follows, and will be an additional charge to all applicable tariffs,.
$20/teu effective 1 December 2018 (bill of lading date)

For the other ports of the People's Republic of China, the 0.50% Sulphur limit will be applicable as from January 1st, 2019. A further separate announcement will be issued closer to its applicability.
